Also known as Lady's Mantle it is an attractive old world perennial. A proven favourite for landscapers and flower arrangers. The name "lady's Mantle" alludes to the shape of the leaves which resemble a lady's mantle or cloak. The genus name Alchemillia comes from the plants association with medieval alchemist who in searching for a universal remedy for disease, belived the plant had healing properties.Highlights: Bears delightful sprays of dainty yellow flowers late spring to summer. Application: Perfect for under planting of trees, ground covers (often used for planting beneath roses) and mass planting. Also great for borders and rockeries. Situation: Easily grown in most soils, sun to part shade. Care Height: Remove spent flower heads to encourage new growth. Height 40cm. |
